Newport Vessels NK180 Pro Skeg Weed Cutter

The NK180 Weed Cutter & Skeg works with the original NK180 and NK180 Pro. It is a high-strength skeg replacement engineered to keep your NK180 propeller free from weeds, grass, and fishing line. Printed from nylon carbon fiber for exceptional strength and durability, it provides a rugged upgrade over the stock skeg.

This assembly uses two replaceable standard utility blades and is available in two blade options: a corrosion-resistant steel version for freshwater use, or a ceramic blade option designed for saltwater environments. Blades are oriented in both directions, allowing a quick bump into reverse to help clear stubborn weeds wrapped around the prop.

Installation Instructions

⚠️ Before You Begin: Make sure the motor battery is disconnected.

Step 1: Remove the Stock Skeg

• Remove the screws holding the original NK180 skeg.
• Lift off the stock skeg assembly.

Step 2: Install the Weed Cutter & Skeg

• Position the new weed cutter skeg assembly in place of the original skeg.
• Install using the provided screws and nuts.
• Avoid over-tightening to maintain material integrity.

Step 3: Finishing Up

• Verify all hardware is secure.
• Use blade protector when storing or transporting.
